Michael Collins

Michael Collins has been a specialist consultant to the leisure and entertainment industry for more than a decade and has worked worldwide for stakeholders of many of the leisure and tourism industry’s largest and most innovative projects.

Michael specialises in business planning and market, economic, operational and financial analysis for visitor attractions, entertainment venues and mixed use developments anchored by leisure.

Michael holds an Honours degree in Economics and Sociology from the University of London and a Masters in Business Administration, incorporating Theme Park Management, from the University of Central Florida in Orlando.

Michael’s passion for the entertainment industry stems from his background as the fourth generation of a leisure operating family.  Growing up in the visitor attractions industry has given Michael an intrinsic feel for what makes the public tick and the implications of strategic decisions for operators as well as investors.  Michael works closely with his father John Collins (see separate bio under Services) who having run his own entertainment businesses and built up the Tussauds Group as Park’s Director, is one of the industry’s most accomplished operators.

Michael’s work has included assignments with the majority of the leisure industry’s largest groups and their financiers, as well as private clients at every scale.  Michael has performed numerous feasibility studies for new projects throughout Europe, in Asia, the Middle East and in the US.   Michael also specializes in operational analysis for existing leisure businesses, providing an objective, benchmarking driven view and strategic advice.
Recognising the potential of leisure real estate to drive economic, tourism and image impact, Michael has also helped clients release planning gain through the development of leisure and entertainment uses alongside other real estate.
